Content Writer, Health and Fitness

About us:

Fitt is super passionate about helping people go healthy. We exist to connect people with their local health and fitness community. We're on a mission to uncover the best local workout spots, healthy eats, and upcoming events in every city.

But we’re not all green juice and sweat sessions. We want to make fitness fun! Sometimes that means combining beer and yoga or running a "donut dash." If it’s healthy-ish and one heck of a good time, we’re in.

About you:

You’re actively involved in your city’s fitness community. Everyone looks to you for tips on the best run routes, yoga studios, and healthy eats. Plus you’re able to write informative, engaging, actionable, and share-worthy content like a pro.

First and foremost, we're looking for contributors who love to sweat. If you're not at work, you're rocking workout gear. You're constantly exploring different hiking trails, fitness studios, and healthy restaurants. You can recommend a running route or upcoming race at a moment's notice. If there's a new gym opening in your town, you know about it first. There's a good chance your Twitter bio has the words fitness, yogi, runner, or paleo in it. And your Instagram photos are of acai bowls, green juice, or you setting a new PR in the gym or at a half-marathon.

Of course, having the scoop on your local fitness scene is only part of the deal. You should also have experience creating content for the web. That could be a blog, website, social platforms, or in a professional capacity; be it PR or communications. 

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread articles to create shareable and engaging content
  • Assist the Editorial Team in generating new content topics
  • Craft highly shareable and attention grabbing headlines
  • Meet regular submission deadlines

Qualifications

  • Must be based in the city to which you are applying
  • Know the local fitness scene inside and out
  • Strong writing skills, including editorial or communications background
  • Passion for health, fitness, and the local fitness community
  • Proficient in Google Docs
